I was changing grips after the season when I noticed this crack on the handle. The grip was changed at the begenning of the season and the crack was not there. It is a shallow crack and I can not get my finger nail in it, but it does not look good. I know nothing about this kind of thing though. Thoughts?

    Here’s my guess.

    Paint crack from flexing.

You probably have had some balls hit the bat near the end cap and caused the handle to flex. I’ve had that happen in the past and just kept swinging away.

I’ve only had one bat, an LS Z, break at the handle.

Doesn’t look too bad. Keep using it unless it starts going again and sideways. I doubt it.

Umpires with keen eyes might have an issue with it. Just have a back up ready if the bat gets tossed out of a game.

I put scratches/cracks like that in my bats when I cut the tape grip off with an exacto knife.
