I would love to find that bat in 28oz with the short barrel, I didn't know they existed. I dug out my 26oz a few years ago for giggles and took it to BP. I was pretty surprised to see it hit Hot Dots just about as well as my composites.

So are these new Eastons going to ship from that other place this week or are they going to get pushed again? I feel like Monsta might have rubbed off on them during that 100k (50k) series.

i am just curios, why you guys get so excited about 10in barrel? Is it gonna perform better? I thought you guys said bats nowadays just couldn't get any better without failing the test?

Not necessarily better performance wise. Better feel wise to some of us.

Its a very familiar feel to some of us old hats. PST days were some of the best years in slowpitch. Short barrel, heavy endload. It teaches the hitter to be a hitter. That's what I learned to hit when I first began and so I fell in love. This bat isn't for everyone, but it is for those who loved the short shell PSTs.

Back in the day it meant heavier endload as well. For composites it usually meant a stiffer feel too.

Generally speaking, with a metal bat the greatest trampoline effect us going to be in the dead center of the trampoline, right? The taper is fixed and the end cap is fixed so the greatest amount if flex is assumed to be right in the middle of those. Technology allows variation in that now, but it generally holds true.

If you have a fourteen inch barrel, that means the SS is seven inches from the end cap. The farther out towards the end that you hit a ball the greater amount of torque you have(longer lever) , so with a shorter barrel you have a greater opportunity for more power.

I never owned a PST but I naturally tend to hit balls towards the end of the bat. To the point where I don't like DC's or Legits and don't get good performance with them compared to 12" barreled Eastons. And when I miss with a 12" barrel, it's usually towards the endcap.

That's what I loved about my XXL. The sweetspot was small but when you squared one it felt unlike any bat with a longer barrel.

You would've loved a short shell PST then. To bad they are mostly gone and unusable where I play.

From what Ive read, it'll be 12 inch barrel, 1 oz endload which is what the blue line has. It's exclusive to a canadian sports store and I heard they wont ship to the states. Good thing, I have some amazing Canadian friends :D

Watching bubba in Florida today and he's not swinging the bubba club. Guess it will be a good bit of time to see them come out.

They are not out for retail yet, but I’m willing to bet everything I own that he has one already.

I would think so as well. But if he did I wonder why he wasn't using it?

If that Bubba club has a responsive barrel (it should), it will be perfect for driving the ball out of a stadium. Endloaded short barrel bats are made for that type of thing.

I guess my point is, its no random thing that Bubba Mack chose that barrel length for his Easton signature model.
