    is it really that sad though? the dude was 89 years old and gave us 50+ great years in broadcasting...whats there to be sad about? everyone dies, his life wasnt lost tragically or cut short leaving us to wonder what could have been...he was just old and died, not really that sad

    It's sad for me because I really enjoyed listening to his broadcasts. He was one of the few announcers that was always enthusiastic and stayed fairly neutral while announcing. Only in here would someone turn that into everyone dies and dying isn't sad. The point wasn't that it's sad someone 89 died after living a full life, it was more it's sad I won't get to hear him announce any more broadcasts. There are so many **** announcers any more that make me want to watch games on mute.
