If I win the Powerball I'll sponsor y'all, but the only rule I have is I get to show up in full Jackie Moon costumes anytime I want and coach a base for an inning.

J Bo, I was going to pick you again, but you went way higher than I thought. So did Va. So did Burger. I was scrambling there for a round or two.

My math on our 2018 expenses
$2345 on unis(liked to have another hat)
    $4225 13 tournaments
$480 balls(would have been more but I don't mind long walks in the woods)
    $1600 leagues
    $8755 total
So 10k would be a good number

I'd think you could negotiate a better price for leagues considering how much beer you'll consume.

    18 tourneys played = $4811
    Balls purchased =$300
No leagues and players pay for unis = $0

    Won $1450 back at tourneys

    Net cost of season $3661

$100 commitment fee per player and a couple fundraisers and you break even for the year like we do.

Why are y'all paying so much for balls? Is that losing that many or playing too many different associations? I'm not saying it's wrong, just asking what causes it.

I will say playing gsl and wsl with their stupid worth deals sucks. Especially gsl, where any utrip or gsl ball should be legal.

$300 is really doing well for balls. Most teams spend much more.

I know it's not, but five dozen still sounds like a lot.

I bought a dozen gsl hot dots for our team two years ago and they were basically gone after two tournaments. I was a little upset since we threw in a classic m for the dhh, so that means that many dopes got ejected and still couldn't be bothered going to get the balls back.

Foul Balls, Tossing balls, Warm up ground balls on occasion will find their way into someone else's bag. I stretch the balls pretty far, and we almost went through almost 2 dozen at the City Slam.

We have group outings to go round up our balls (and everyone else’s who are too lazy to do so) everytime we have a break between games. We also don’t hit very many home runs. There are lots of times we will end up going home with more balls than we started with. I’m also not one of those guys who throws a new ball in all the time because the one we are hitting “doesn’t sound good” or whatever. Probably should throw in a new one more often so we could get more hits lol

I don't have balls in my bag for this very reason. It actually passes me off how nonchalant people are with someone else's property. We had a break last year and I gave teammates five balls to hit bp with, and they gave zero back. Two were thrown in the dugout, two were left by the outfield fence, and I never found the fifth . Just left out by the outfield fence.

When I take bp I almost always have to get any over the fence. Definitely have to go into the trees if any make it there. Somebody will go over the fence and get the easy ones and think that's good enough.

I typically buy a new dozen every tournament. If you aren't hitting new or gently used balls, you are at a disadvantage. Z will disagree with me but unless everyone has better bats than us, some do but most don't, you can tell the difference in the sound.

Ant throws a new one after 3 hits, but he buys them most of the time.

You play too much at MAB...
Where you have no chance of recovering HR balls from fld 4.

That doesn't matter as much as taking care of them. If you never leave them in your car after a tourney they'll last a good while. I think the best our coach has done is take them into the garage, which is only slightly better than leaving them in your car. Heat kills. Those zns we bought at the city slam last year were dog****. I think they'd been stored in a green house.

This ^^^ is a very valid point. If/when I have balls left from the tourney, I always take them in the house where it's cool. Heat is certainly the enemy.

No wonder they are so expensive. Those air conditioned delivery trucks aren't cheap.

John O or Sean.. never really had that big of a problem with either.

Pam is a league night ump. Maybe even Metro, but that's it.

Slim was a decent ump when he first started, but never thought he was that good to do Conference games since he was so-so on league night.

That said, you couldn't pay me 10x what they make to listen to these whiney kids cry all the time. Nope.
