The numbers for Fireman's look pretty low this year. Like 21 teams for E and maybe 24 for D? Feels even smaller than last year, which felt small.

Last AB - Sharp single down the RF line Finally found an average last night after pounding everything into the dirt earlier in the week. My timing is ugly, so I'm pushing pretty much EVERYTHING, but hits are hits!

Is it just me, or is this about the rainiest start to a season in recent memory? I think we're down about 4 weeks of Monday games at this point, and we've missed a couple of Thursdays too. And now we're back in the Canada wildfire bull**** on top of it.

Was the problem really that nobody believed you, or that nobody really cares about something that maybe happened over 40yr ago.

I've only played Corky's once, and that was last year as a pickup. We went 1-2, and it was cold and wet. It wasn't a bad time, but seemed more like a well attended league night than a tournament atmosphere.

Got on the field for late games last night. Didn't even finish an entire inning. I couldn't see the pitching rubber, and couldn't see the plate. I was just tossing up meatballs hoping I was somewhere in the vicinity of where a guy might swing. At least we crushed a few beers after.

You got this...probably. Maybe? I'll keep my fingers crossed. With 3/4 nights of scheduled play "rained out" I'm hoping I actually get on the field tomorrow night for what are now our first Thursday games of the early season. And of course, I'm short 4 regulars. This is year two of me...

On the other hand, most leagues in the S Metro canceled last night because of all the crazy weather hysteria...and then, it was nice enough for EVERYONE to have played. Mid to late April ball is so frustrating here in MN.

First games of the year tonight. Do I want to be playing in general? Yes. Do I love playing in 40F, rain, and wind...on last year's dead grass? Not so much.

Honestly, I stopped using USPS for bats, and go UPS via PirateShip for similar reasons...especially after the price hikes on the USPS side. It's typically about $15 to ship a bat anywhere in the country via UPS + PirateShip. Hope your bat turns up sooner rather than later!

There's a reason I don't own anything more than trail runners at this point. If I'm forced to play in the grass, things have gone horribly wrong for very similar reasons.

I think that's a valid question about SBF in general. Everything mostly goes down on FB these days. But, playing HitTrax pretty much every Friday, I'm ready to get outside and play some actual ball.

Will be interesting to see your results w/ that MX Torch. I don't play a ton of ASA, so it's stupid that I own 4 Monsta ASA bats, but I also wanted to swing an MX just to see, so I picked up a 26oz MX Torch recently. It feels fantastic, though I'm not sure I'm seeing markedly different results...
