    Worlds 2022

We're playing a Florida team that had 10 players added this past Sunday. From what I can tell, a lot of Florida players play on E and D teams. They just get added/dropped each weekend as needed. If they scheduled the D Tournament to take place before the E, it would stop a lot of that...

USSSA Batter swings at ball while walking to first

Which part isn't a thing? Hitting a ball during a dead ball situation? Or doing so isn't a violation of any rule. The ball was hit, that's a thing. As an umpire, you would have no problem with it? Or is it that the batted ball didn't hurt anyone so it's not a thing.

USSSA Batter swings at ball while walking to first

I was in the outfield and didn't see the exact sequence. Suppose pitcher verbally indicated intentional walk, then made the pitch. The batter and the other team started complaining about being walked. "We came here to swing" "Throw it over the plate" etc. He wasn't happy about it and took a...

USSSA Batter swings at ball while walking to first

Batter has full count. Pitcher delivers pitch 15 feet short of the plate and up the first base line. Seeing the pitch is no where near the plate, batter starts walking to first while the ball is still in the air. While walking towards first and well out of the batters box, he takes a golf...

Any Fast Pitch Bats In Slow Pitch?

What association do you play? Not true. ISA Softball has Rule 4 Section 1: "2. Fast pitch bats cannot be used in adult slow pitch play" And the bat isn't on the banned bat list. ASA banned a lot of Easton Fastpitch bats. They still have a stamp but are illegal for fast/slow pitch.

    E Worlds Florida

According to this thread on Florida Softball, they were using C and D players who had already played Worlds. http://www.floridasoftball.com/forum/index.php?/topic/17213-usssa-e-worlds-bracket/

    D Worlds....

Where are you staying? I usually just pull up Google Maps with a Earth/satellite view and can find places to hit that way. Just make sure they aren't attached to a school. The fancier multi-field facilities are usually municipal sites and they don't always allow you on.

Question about a team jumping back and forth between classes.

It sounds like the team in question is registered as an E team. That allows you to play any tournament E and above. USSSA offers double points for E teams that play in D states. Your case from 4 years ago, the team you were on must have registered as D to play states. Once you register D and...

    Stupid League Rules

I played in a co-ed league that had the same rule. Most associations say you can't leave the base until the ball crosses the plate. But this rule was unless the batter made contact, you couldn't leave the base. If batter swung and missed and the runner stepped off the base as the ball...

    Coed worlds

Mixed rules allow roster drops/adds as close as 72 hours before the tournament. Were those players from Gettin' Dirty on that roster all year long? If so, shame on the teams in your area for not calling them on it. The story one frequently hears from teams is that the state directory made...

    Coed worlds

Can you imagine how much time would be wasted if they let teams protest roster eligibility based on the current system? It would take 2 weeks to play the tournament. What USSSA needs is an updated database of exact player names and teams. They could then scan the system automatically to...

    Coed worlds

Wait, what?!? That's some backpedaling BS. Look at their record in C. If they had dropped to D, every other team in the state would've called them sandbaggers. And the can of worms Holland just opened up will have every team next year loaded with C players who will claim they could...
