    not calling out illegal pitches

The best is when they cry about a borderline pitch, then swing at a pitch that would hit them if they didn't swing, then cry "Blue made me have to swing!" 🤣🤣🤣 I treat the 6-10 the same as the strike zone box......if any part of the ball touches the 6-10' zone, it's good. From 52' (or 55-65'...

    16" glove worlds

Your concept it solid and I agree with it 100%, but it's in direct contrast with the philosophy of today's player/game. Leagues won't increase (at least here) bc it's about stacking 1-2 league teams with as much C & B talent to destroy all the actual league teams, then say dumb **** like "Get...

    16" glove worlds

I've played ASA/USA my whole life, and exclusively for the first 16-18 years I played; also have umpired it for close to a decade now. That being said, I'd rather play USSSA and if/when I play that's what I play. As a pitcher, it is less restrictive and far less complaining from batters...

    16" glove worlds

I saw one of the 2 you were referencing. The foot must be entirely in front of the plate; meaning if even the edge of the heel is on the line of the box he's good. The one I saw he was good. Now stepping ON the plate is totally different than in front of.

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

Could you imagine if we had the resources TV does to show a box and/or 3D visual graphic of the ball passing through the strike zone and just how big the ACTUAL strike zone would be as it is currently written but clearly not called? So much butt hurt by so many batters.....

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

Coming down is one of the most asinine things I've heard. Gravity ensures that any ball delivered underhand that arcs at least 3 feet will in fact be "coming down" 100% of the time on any pitch that falls short of hitting the backstop. The reality of it is that most (not all) umpires have...

    Any Illegal Bat = injury

League does NOT allow them. Player "snuck" it into the game.

    Any Illegal Bat = injury

Lets say a player uses a USSSA certified bat (no USA certification stamp) in a USA league and injures a player with a batted ball. Is there a liability on the umpire? Is there a liability on anyone? Does that change if the umpire did a pregame inspection of bats and this bat was not...

But he just wants to play with his friends  :rolleyes:

Now for more consistency. The potential and desire is there..... DW vs TSNE 5:45 F1....late in the game IIRC. Don't watch the rest

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

If it was Benny, yeah he hits some scary stuff. He's only like 22 y/o too. He hits the ball very well backside for someone so young and so big. This is his first year in D, which illustrates how pathetic this game is that he was allowed to play E....for YEARS!

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

It's only about half our starters so take it easy on them. Wasn't on our schedule but last weeks rainout had a few guys wanting to play before next weeks trip to OCMD. I think they scraped together exactly 10 guys so please don't injure any of them.

My team will be there; I will not. JP will not be sad about my absence.

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

The sad thing is......this year has actually been an improvement over the past 6 years....even with the hitting different balls during the same tourney (Pro-M & Classic M depending on field)

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

He wouldn't even need to reduce fees. Just make it BYOB. Teams would even be on board for a $25 increase per team to hit good balls throughout the tourney. I've pitched in games where we used very different balls during the SAME GAME! One time there were a few balls stamped "Black American"...

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

Well thanks for the kind words, but I've burned my bridges with JP, mostly bc I talk out loud about these things that should be better. He simply does not want to deal with the men's program properly. Easier to cater to people who tell him how great he is, women's and the lowest divisions...

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

It's usually pretty bad here. TD is unapproachable so bad that even saying hello to the guy gets him very defensive and then he'll go on and on explaining something about the tourney when in reality a player simply said "Hi" to him. Not sure how the other director in the State uses the same...

Hard cores are ruining USSSA softball

JP uses 2 different balls in the same tourney depending on which field you're on (Pro M on 2 fields -- Classic M's on the other 2 fields) and you get 1 new ball each game then 3 y/o BP balls as backups. Doubt he ruffles any feathers about talks of balls, and certainly not with any educated stance.
