Winner Bracket Final Four
1000008830.jpg

Swing off a bit today with some dipping but pushed through.

The Boombah moves to Winner Semi against the Dirty.
The XRT missed hit a few and won the round on final swing with an OTF. Demo will have a hard time against the ACL but anything can happen.
1000008831.jpg

Dirty most consistent tonight with a couple of Gatecrashers to send its breathern the Wanted into the loser bracket against the LS bat that has been killing it in those rounds.

Demolition was consistent performer with 9 points, where the ACL lost due to some miss hits with 7 points
1000008958.jpg

Wanted just a tad behind in performance with 4 points. These Combats can use some work @ times and this one no different.

LS Z2K with gatecrasher able to move past the Wanted with 6pts.

Next round will pit the Demolition v Z2000 in which the winner will take on the loser of the Winner Bracket. Boombah XRT v Combat Dirty

As usual I hype 1 bat in some rounds and off they go out of tournament. The Z2000 just couldn't muster enough lift and fell to the Demo who now will go against the Dirty.

Dirty was in the mix but one more OTF by XRT moved into the Winner Bracket Final with a 12 to 9 win.

Next Round Winner goes against the XRT

Loser Round Final

Demolition since being dropped into the loser bracket wanted to get back against the XRT. It did just that with 2 Gatecrashers to surpass the Dirty.

As it seems the Winner Bracket Leader curse continues. Demolition got the revenge against the XRT. A few miss hits and consistent Demo forces a 3rd Match against the XRT.

Final Old Skool Battle

10 swings each with point system.
Ties will get 3 more swings each

1000009121.jpg

Demo started with 3 balls round 1 with 1 gatecrasher and 1 OTF to lead off with 5 points. XRT struggled with me dipping and only 1 point.

Round 2 of 4 balls each the Demo hit another gatecrasher to go up by 8 points. XRT hit two OTF's but miss hit the other two landing with 7 points.

Round 3 of 3 balls and Demo pointed on all 3 with an additional 2 more gatecrashers to finish with 13 points. XRT on final 3 balls needed to get score on all 3 balls if it were to win the event. Swing 1 an OTF to get within 3 points. Swing 2 miss hit no points. On final swing needed an OTF to force a tie breaker round. Final swing only got the 1 hopper to land with 11 points.

Demolition was consistent and towards the end could feel the bat getting better and better. Will be looking to get some swings in gameplay this year with it, deservedly so.

Special Guest Round

Hellfire v Alpha v War Ready
6 wings each.

Hellfire 5 points
Alpha 6 points / 1(OTF)
War Ready 9pts / 2(OTF)

Monsta Proton 27oz vs TPS Williamn 28 oz.

Depending on how many hits the sidewinder has. I’d bet that it’s gonna win. I have one and it’s fire

Some mist and rain but got through another few rounds.

Easton 27.5 Smack sent the Pure Evil 27 to the loser bracket. Same with the Axe Flared ousting the Valor. No OTF this round.

Begs the question that I voiced hear before, is Easton Double Barrel Tech better than the PAD. Might just need to do a Easton v Pure battle after this. Time will tell as I have seen Pure in live situations and performs. Maybe just my swing speed isn't engaging the PAD?
1000009405.jpg

Next 4 bats showed potential above the previous 4 with 3 of them hitting OTF's.

The Monsta 27oz 888 edged the Worth 28oz Freedom when tied and into extra ball round, launched an OTF to move on in winner bracket.
1000009403.jpg

Proton 26oz Hot Butter was just that and the Easton 27oz Alpha gave a valient effort. Hot Butter with 2 OTF's smoothly moves in the winner bracket.

1000009432.jpg

Early swings were line drives and started slow with scoring but eventually both matches went extras.

Demarini Flipper 28oz gave the Monsta War Ready 25oz a fight. Extra round where on last swing the Monsta came out on top.

1000009434.jpg

Battle of the year so far where the Worth Supercell 27oz v Suncoast Backlash 28.5oz traded blows back and forth. It took 3 extra ball rounds to declare the winner with maybe an unfair advantage as the BLash was in 2022 Challenge.

Suncoast hit also 4 OTF's with the final swing to sweat out the Cell.

Loser Bracket

2 weeks away due to work and could feel after this round, out of shape again.

Anyways just as it is in any game some days better than others goal is to be consistently on the better
side.

TPZ Williams moves on and sends the Anarchy Hyde as officially 1st one out of the competition.

Pure battle and Evil not so much. Valor out does it's breathern.

Alpha sweated out a possible early exit as well but redeemed itself to send Freedom home with an OTF on last swing.

One more loser bracket match and will then move to the Winner bracket round.

Wind blowing in with a slight mist.

Loser bracket matchup

Flipper vs Supercell

Flipper started out of the gate with 3 points. Supercell forced extra balls round in which edged out the only Demar in the competition with a 6 to 5 victory.

Winner Bracket 2nd round matchup.

Sidewinder vs Series 2

The Proton was just one swing more consistent with 5 points and sent the Pure with 4 points to the loser bracket in which will draw the TPS Williams in that round later.

Next Winner Draws posted with pic.

How is the Easton asa alpha, does it give you worth miken vibes or feel different, break in etc, I saw the initial post being different than ghost tech, but not much for reviews, you seem to be the only one with one lol, thanks

@ First look I had a feeling it was the Tetra Core tech but swing one squashed it. Average Softball Dude did one that was fairly accurate in it's assessment. Need to hone in on the sweetspot but when struck the ball flys. Nice crack sound as well.

Will be getting more swings in during this format and will see how well it does overall. Has to run through loser bracket in which other bats are dropping in.

Looking to see when they release more as I think this tech will put Easton back on the USA map.

Winner Bracket Round 2

Easton Smash vs Axe Flared Dually

This went into extra round swings where the Easton Smash moved on with 8pts and the AXE fell with 7pts. Axe did have 1 OTF but Smash gatecrashed a few and was consistent in final extra ball round to take the win.

Screenshot_20240516_181505_Challenge Place.jpg

Monsta 888 vs Proton Hot Butter

Monsta was not in the same league today. The Hot Butter scorched the 888 out of the gate with an OTF and 2 gatecrashers to an easy 11 to 3 Victory. 888 falls into loser bracket where it may have a chance to move back into the fray.

The next winner bracket match pits the Backlash vs War Ready.

Early prediction but think one of these 2 will be in Finals eventually.

Suncoast Backlash v Monsta War Ready

The battle was not to my expectations as with both bats I kept hitting line drives in which kept the scoring lower than I expected. The Backlash edged the War Ready with a 8 to 7 victory. Will see how the War Ready reacts in the loser round.

Backlash will face the Hot Butter in the next round.

Back to loser bracket Round 2

Pure Sidewinder v LS TPS

Same here with swings where was hitting line drives. The Difference was that the Sidewinder gatecrashed to victory with a 6 to 5 win. The TPS felt as if its starting to break in, barrel giving a little more feedback on hits.

Pure Valor Vs Axe Flared
Rematch from round 1 where Axe edged out the Valor. Pretty much same outcome but with extra ball round.

Axe with 6 points beats the Valor with 5pts

Easton Alpha vs Monsta 888
Another with extra ball round where the Alpha on final 2 swings edged the 888 by 1 point with 2 gatecrashers.

Due to work trips decided to start with basics as I missed about 7 games in the past 2 weeks. 30 swings to hit line drives then hit 6 each with each bat using my point system on a field with a 4.5 foot wall as the fence line.

Alpha had 2 OTF plus a few gate crashers.
SB2 out of wrapper impressive.
Warthog hit 2 OTF also but no gatecrashers.
Proton needs more hits to open up.

Final was 11 to 9

Next will be back to Winner Bracket. Proton2 v Smack and Hot Butter v Backlash

Slightly stiff wind towards T.

Proton 2 v Easton Smack

Proton took a 3 pt lead on 1st 4 swings but could only muster one more point on the final 3 due to line drives.
Easton Smack after 4 swungs was behind by 2 points. But on final 3 swings a gatecrasher and an OTF put it ahead into the Winner Bracket Final.

Next Winner bracket match to face the Smack.

Hotbutter v Backlash

Proton Hot Butter v Suncoast Backlash

Was thinking this would be the match of this series but my declining swing killed the match.

Since April I haven't been the same. I can blame the work travel schedule those last 3 months but it's a combination of my age, less workouts and confidence that I'm seeing effectively making this run to the finals tough.

Anyways the bats will perform as the batter dictates.

Hot Butter took a lead of 3pts to 1pt. On final 3 swings the Backlash could only muster 1pt more. Many dips in swing caused too many high pop ups.

Hot Butter moves to Winner Bracket against the Smack.

Will move to loser bracket to flesh out which bat will face the loser of the Winner Bracket to get one more chance @ the winner circle.

Worked on mechanics and also bats used are much better, maybe.

Axe Flared v Pure Sidewinder

Axe started with 2 points on 3 swings but then the Sidewinder on 1st 3 pointed with OTF and GC. After the next round of 4 balls the Sidewinder blew away the Axe with a total of 2 each on OTF and GC's.

12 to 4 for the Winder

Monsta War Ready v Easton Alpha

This one was the slugfest I had hoped yesterday. These 2 went neck n neck on 7 balls ending in a tie of 9pts. Each had 1 OTF and 2 GC's.

Extra round of 3 balls and ended with another tie with each hitting 1 OTF and GC to tie @ 14 points.

Extra 1 ball round. The Alpha put another OTF and WarReady fell short with a line drive.

17 to15, Alpha sweats it out.
Next round of loser bracket bats

Balls were left out in the pickup all day. The balls responded in kind.

Loser Bracket

Pure Sidewinder v Promonsta Series 2

2nd match against these 2 bats with the Proton moving on. Very low score and was wondering if due to balls or me.

In the other bracket

Suncoast Backlash v Easton Alpha
This one went into extra ball rounds with the Alpha scoring on last 2 swings with Gatecrashers to edge out the Lash.

Next round will be the Series 2 v Alpha with last undeafted winner bracket pitting the Surprise of the T-off the Smack against another surprise the Hot Butter.
