I'm trying to decide if 50 is old. ...
Fear not ... Yesterday I returned from Tampa where I played with a 55+ team in the ISSA World TOC (I'm 65). We played AA, ran the table ... 6-0 ... I hit .750 but was only 5th highest avg on the team. We got to swing senior bats like the UltraII and Rebok Melee. SEE WHAT YOU HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO!So scared of getting older, ...

My 16 year old daughter just announced that she needs to write a satirical essay on the subject, "Things that men are obsessed with"
boobs, wubba wubbas, gazoobies in that order
The GF is wanting this car we found. 1999 Ford Escort with 135,000. New transmission, new brakes, new tires, new radio. AC and heat work. Drives good and stops good. No leaks. Body is a bit beat up, but solid. The mechanic selling it wants $1500 cash, but she doesn't get her tax refund until the 15th or so. What should we do? I can scrape up $1500 if I have too, because this car isn't going to be around for long.
I thought it was a 50 and older league. The guy who recruited me knows how old I am and about half the guys in the league know also......
I dont anticipate getting that much older in one year, I can play next January as I will be 54 in September, its not like I am a ringer or anything. Lotsa guys there are much more skilled players than me. But I did not know I was illegal. They have a hard time getting enough players.

Thinking about buying a moped/scooter. Anyone have any experience with that sort of thing?
A little late... but if you are looking at any in the Honda line up let me know if you have any questions. I sell them for a living! For now atleast
I know a guy that is clearing out some Keeway stuff. I need a good price on something that is decent.
I have never heard of these guys before. With any of the smaller companies you really need to make sure that someone in you area will work on it for you or be able to provide you with repair/service parts down the road. If you are not able to get any support it will not be worth much.
So, in my ongoing epic tale of cars and bad luck...
Last Wednsday, I was leaving my internship and just as I accelerated to get on the four lane state highway, my car died in the oncoming lanes. Thankfully, everyone had enough time to stop and there wasn't an accident. Ended pushing my car into a parking lot and having it towed. My mechanic had it most of the weekend, and basically we found out that the wiring harnesses that were recalled on this car were never replaced on mine, and we're long out of the recall limit. If you can actually even find the wiring harness, they're $2000. He has it running again and couldn't recreate the problem as much as he tried, so at least it's working. Basically told me it took them about 5 hours of labor to end up at the intersection of "what the hell" and "damn it." On the bright side, he refused to charge me for the 5 hours.
Dude. Time to start taking the bus, I think.

Fortunately no wildlife or people were hurt. This was with the "new" car too?
