ball hits runner on first

bounces a little and picked up by 1st baseman and tags first. guy on 1st doesn't move . who is out?

NCASA i think you read it wrong.. topic was.. ball hits runner on first..
I'm assuming the runner was still on the bag when hit..if the ball did not pass a fielder then it is a dead ball all runners advance 1base if forced.. if the ball did pass a fielder then it is a live ball play on

Ah crap, you’re right. I missed the subject.

And the correct terminology is “closest fielder,” not “a fielder.”

1. Determine Fair/Foul: Fair go to step 2; Foul - dead ball strike on batter
2. Did runner on the base cause interference: Yes, dead ball runner is out, B/R placed at 1b; No, go to step 3
3. Location of nearest defender: in front of base live ball play on; beyond the base dead ball b/r placed at 1b and all runners forced move up.

What association? USA NC and Deputy are correct. USSSA the ball is live and NC's first response is correct.
