what's the effect of a short barrel like 12 inch vs a 14 inch?

I just baought the mizuno frenzy 2... talks about a longer barrel. After putting it side by said with a normal 12' barrel.. there is a little difference on the top of the handle width. As far as performance, the sweet spot wasnt any bigger. If you take an inside pitch with and early swing you might get a little less sting than normal. Just my opinion. BTW I havnet broke the bat in fully yet.

It can affect the size of the sweet spot, depends on the bat though. I went from using my 01 ESTL to my 08 RockeTech, which was going from a 15" barrel to a 12" barrel, and was able to adjust to the smaller barrel in one BP session. More than anything, the difference was the LOCATION of the sweet spot. With a 12" barrel, the SS is closer to the end of the bad whereas with a larger barrel it will usually be farther down.

ok because i had the choise between the srr2 and the srv3... i took the srv3

srr2= 13.5 inch srv3= 12 inch...
