Other Base running

Tonight in league we had the bases loaded zero outs. Soft ground ball hit to the ss and the runner from second going to third knock into each other and no one is out. Then the umpires come together and declare the runner who bumped into the ss trying to advance to third is out. Is that the correct ruling?

How about an alternate possibility for you to consider. No call due to what the rules consider a "wreck." Infielder has the right to field the ball but the runner has the right to run the bases. Sometimes those two things overlap. If the fielder is set to field the ball and the runner trucks him, that's interference. Otherwise... had to be there.

Wrecks happen on thrown balls (and in ASA, pretty darn seldom even then). Here, the right of the fielder clearly trumps the right of the runner. Interference all day long.
