I'm really happy Combat is making a comeback. Has anyone had a chance to demo the new Combat CR-1 Bradley Jones USSSA softball bat yet?

I've never really swung a Combat, but I know they're still loved amongst the old guard

Looks like there's a couple of YT videos out there, but otherwise, your post is the first I've heard about it. If it's a 1pc, I'll probably consider it if it becomes the "it" bat to have.

^^^ it looks like those are the first two vids to surface as they literally just received the bats within the last couple of days

Interesting. Wonder what the actual relationship to Combat is. If it's closer to traditional Combat or the Easton/Miken regular business.

It’s a Bradley jones signature model. He had a bat with miken already. So it’s probably another Rawlings.

the one review i believe big chief or whatever says/claims it is a new combat tech/model not a remake/repaint from one of the mother company/manufacture, but we all know how all of that goes. regardless of what it is i am a bit intrigued by the review that the other dude did. exit velo speeds were 100ish + pretty consistently supposedly outa wrapper

And somehow the compression seemed to go up after the hitting session

I trust the Big Chef and Average Dudes videos with honest reviews. They do reviews on pretty much every bat that is released. I am intrigued and may get one as I need another bat. I did like the old Combats back in the day so I am hoping this one is as good as they say.

It's most likely a mish-mash of Rawlings/Worth/Easton parts and tech

Average dudes came it if the wrapper at about 255, so that's more like the traditional Rawlings one piece tech.

I've already bought everything I need for years to come, but if I cave it'll probably be for one of these.

100% sure its not the Combat you remember.

The original Combats were made by CE Composites in Canada before they were bought out by Rawlings. Since then there have been a few dealer exclusive Combats released, all made in China. No way Rawlings is gonna pay North American wages when they have slave labour camps already set up.

All true except for some of the last Combats. Remember the crazy sticker on some that was half Canadian, half Chinese?

Picked one up at worlds in florida 2 weeks ago dry swung it feels good from what i heard its similar to a bedlam with a stiffer feel

Let me know when you get swings on it in BP or games to see how you like it. I do have the blue Bedlam and it's a firestick right now. It took a little breaking in, but now it's as good as my APG. I was hoping the 1 piece Bedlam would be discounted soon so I could pick up one of those.

Hitting with the Nation did a review and he gave it 10's across the board. I won't pay full price for a bat to include this one. If the price drops during the Winter I will definitely pick one up for Spring 2025.

I wonder if their site is accurate and there is actually only 500 made. Looks like only 26 oz left. Shame

Thanks for the info. I need one more bat and I think this will be the one if I can get it before it sells out.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one watching stupid bar reviews, even baseball, on YouTube to pass the time.

Did y'all see the baseball bat bros answer the age old question of are softball bats hotter than baseball bats? I won't ruin it for you, but it's worth a watch.

I've also bought at least three bats since the post above where I said I'm done buying for the year...

I used to watch the Bat Bros. all the time with their softball bat reviews. I guess there was to many softball review groups to compete with so they are now reviewing baseball bats.
