Combat Fails... again

Combat fail or do you fail to realize they have durability issues? Welcome to 6 months ago.

Must be the Luck of the Draw as I've had a 28FL GS that I got from Jmac at Worlds (Sept) last year & it's got about 900+ swings on it! All it has is some Spider Webbing! I've let about everyone that wanted to swing it during CST2K10 as a Demo bats because Bobby Nifong had a case of them to sell NIW! Even used it in Spring ball when it was cold because I didn't want to swing my DS! Damn if I got one of the GOOD Ones! :D

sorry guys, I guess I should not have put 200 swings on it in BP. The BP is definitely what destroyed the bat. I shouldn't expect any Combat to last over 200 swings. What was I thinking?

Hey, I know that they have durability issues, but no bat should break in 200 swings let alone the same bat... twice. If Combat knows the bat has durability issues then they should compensate for that. When I informed them that the first one broke very quickly, they told me the receipt was too old for them to give me a returnable bat. ??????
Who gives a **** how old the receipt is? I just told you that the bat has 200 swings on it and it is broke. ... give me a break.... oh, you already did... TWICE!

**** Combat!

Sorry to play devils advocate here, but Combat is one of the most forgiving companies when it comes to warranty returns. Still, they have to draw the line somewhere, and I would say that trusting a customer on how many swings were put on a bat when the bat was purchased a long time ago is probably a reasonable place to start.

I understand your frustration, but you kind of have to see where they are coming from here.

Yes, I see where they're coming from.
However, when you know that a bat has durability issues...:rolleyes:

I would have liked to get a returnable bat back but didn't expect it.

I agree it would of been proper to nice to get a returnable back with less than 200

Oh, another thing is that I purchased the bats during the winter time, which I expliained to them, so I didn't have any chance to use them for atleast a couple of months after purchase. ... I understand that they deal with a lot of returns and requests and it would be very difficult to take a customer on their word. However, after sending and receiving several emails, you should be able to judge "decent", yes I said decent, character with just a little commonsense.

Those mix of 525's is what killed the bat. These GS's DO NOT handle those rocks well at all. The majority of my Combat team swing the GS. We have not broke one GS this year using the 44/400's. couple weeks ago we played a tourney using 525 comp balls and busted 2 used ones and a NIW.

We switched to the DB and didnt have an issue the rest of the day.

i have a GS with 650 + swings on it.... Id like to think I hit the ball fairly hard too.... If you are the type of hitter that hits the ball in the face rather than cutting it and spinning it you are gonna have durability issues with any combat.

I have stood in the Combat warehouse when returns come in and seen first hand some of the things people try to pull. Frankly, I'm surprised George is still as nice and understanding as he is.

x2, people try to do some really dumb ****, to pass bats as legitmate returns. COMbat has, by far, the most lenient returns department.

I agree, they're customer service has been pretty damn considerable every other occasion with the exception of this one.

So, I have the option of getting a DB or a Wood. A couple of you have said I should go with a DB... is that what the consensus is... DB > Wood???
