Don Morton RV23 Question

So I just bought the Don Morton Horween RV23 and I was fully expecting it to have a Deer-tan lining because the website shows that in the photos and description. I just got the glove on Friday, opened it up and realized it’s Horween in the hand stall instead. I much prefer the Horween over the Deer-tan anyway, but has anyone seen this happen?

Horween RV question… let the summoning begin! Hahaha.

Agree on the upgrade. I’m not a fan of the deer tan, either.
Haha I almost didn’t buy it because it was supposed to have deer tan, but to say the least I was pleasantly surprised just confused lol.

Funny you say that, I wasn’t a fan of how the RV pattern looked at first but now that I bought one and started to break it in, I love it!! 😂
Thinking back over the years, pretty sure I’ve had six RV23’s, I’m down to just one now, an OG Pinky Patch that I’ll probably never part with. I do still have a new 207-RV23 if that counts?

As far as Horween lined gloves, I have just two now, my NP7 and that Pro207-RV23 just mentioned. Both exclusives from here, I’m gonna sell that 207-RV23 soon, never going to use it.

Anna turned 23 yesterday, she’s married now and living a wonderful life, I had knee surgery last week, hobbling around like an old man, knees are shot! No more playing or coaching, looks like ball is over for me.

Congrats on your new RV23 pick up, the last one I had, Horween inside and out was a fantastic glove that I regretted selling the minute I sold it, didn’t need it either though....

On the liners, got to admit, the Deer Tanned definitely feels better, to me anyway.

Don't know how much your hands sweat...I definitely recommend some Obenauf's Beeswax on that Horween liner! There's a girl that played with Anna that's several years younger, her Dad bought her a Morton's full Horween Pro1000 at my recommendation, this girl loved this glove! The Dad brought it to my office one day to condition it and repair a broken lace. I ended up re-lacing the web, spiral, and fingertips, but I was shocked at just how cracked up the palm liner was, it looked 50 years old! She must have very acidic sweat!

So I highly recommend you treat that palm liner!

I hope your recovery goes well. I’ve heard good things about old man knee surgeries. Pilates helped get me back up and running after PT was done.

Guess I’m just too impatient, I’m still hurting bad, like a draining drag you down pain! Knees suck!

That they do. If it’s any consolation, I feel like my knee healed faster than my shoulder. I do think the reformer based pilates post PT is what got me back up and running. I was in my thirties and it was humbling to watch the 20 something and 50 something ladies make it look easy, but it leveled out after the first month and a half… and they stopped thinking I was a guy in the class looking for dates. 🤦‍♂️ I did talk with the instructors up front on what I was trying to do and they were pretty good with suggested modifications, extra exercises and making sure I was using the correct form during class.

Thanks for the heads up!! I do have pretty sweaty hands especially in the summer but luckily I’m mainly an outfielder for my adult league team. The most use my RV will get is just some catch and maybe if I play infield for my fastpitch softball team lol. Talked to someone from Don Morton, turns out the reason I got a Horween liner instead of deer tanned was it was a leftover from another release, that explains the 2021 date code. But when you’re ready to sell that 207-RV I might be interested!! And good luck with your knee, PT is never fun!

Hope your recovery gets better and soon! Also, hope you’ll find a way to continue to be part of the game! You done a lotta good out there, AD!

No PT for a right meniscus tear, that’ll come when I need left replacement! 😖

Let me know what you’re thinking on my 207-RV, it won’t be cheap! 😉

Haha sorry for the late response, but are you still interested in selling your 207, or any other Horweens lol? 😂
