Finally, I got what I was looking for!

After about a half dozen tries with various glove makers, I finally got what I was looking for! Who knew getting a custom 13.5" open back under $300 would be harder than finding the holy grail!
This custom Capire Classic Steerhide glove cost $225, including expedited service. The glove arrived in 11 days!!
The leather quality and craftsmanship is on par with a Wilson A2000 13.5". The leather is about 90% as good as Vinci TJ1952 and BR46 with equally good craftsmanship...and maybe about 85% as good as HOH with equal craftsmanship...and maybe about 80% as good as GS with 90% of their craftsmanship. But none of these makers (except Wilson) even offer a 13.5" open back glove.
The glove is light...almost as light as kip leather, even though I got it pre-softened with an extra thick palm pad. (It actually doesn't seem that thick.) It came about 50% broken in.
I'll update once I break it in, but so far so good!
Thank you, Capire!

Definitely! However, Vinci's open back 13.5" (TJ1952) comes up 1/2" shorter than advertised, whereas the Wilson 13.5" and Capire 13.5" are spot on!

Update: This glove is awesome! My team mates have knicknamed me "the vacuum"!lol Today I caught a ball that I thought was over my head by just sticking my hand up. At first I thought this glove was too long, but it's perfect for the outfield! Plus, it feels really good on my hand!
Capire custom steerhide rocks!;)

A wise man once told me that, "Beauty is what beauty does." This glove does amazing things!

That web throws it off for me, for the size a dual post web with a double bar would fill the space BUT if your happy then more power to you.

Capire makes a quality glove. The all black look is classic & sensible! Of a long list of custom glove companies, they are on my short list.

Questions:
  1. Did you give them your hand measurements?
  2. If you did, how's the fit?
  3. Did you get the steer hide lining (as opposed to deersin)?
The comparison #'s are purely arbitrary so I won't comment on them. Vinci does offer a 13.5" open back (TJ1952-OB). Not your color preference though......

1. Yes...in centimeters! I actually measured it wrong and got an immediate email from Capire asking me to recheck the measurements.
2. PERFECT Fit! I even asked for and got the perfect fit for TiP!
3. Steerhide inside and out. I love it!

P.S. I got two (or three...I can't remember) TJ OBs...they all came up way short. The Capire is spot on...so don't order a 13.5" unless that's the exact size you want!
