ASA Force Out

1st and 3rd, 2 out. Flyball to center field caught, runner on first thinks it is gapped and is subsequently thrown on at first on a force play. Runner crosses the plate before the out is made. Force play dictates and no run or is this a timing play and the run scores?

Doesn't the fly ball caught make the 3rd out??

When the fly ball was caught, it was the third out. There's never going to be a run on this play, as described.

Butttttt, assuming there were fewer than 2 outs - that is not a force out. It's an appeal play. It becomes timing. Runner crosses before the appeal for the third out, score it. Runner crosses after the appeal, don't score it.

Simple, really.

All associations that play "stick and ball" games.

Assuming the catch is the 2nd out then if the runner tags and scored before the live ball appeal is made the run scores. If the catch is the 3rd out this all a moot point, no run scores.

And its not a FORCE OUT. The force is removed when the ball is caught thus the Runner on 1st is not forced to advance. It's a live ball appeal on the runner leaving 1st base too early which makes it a timing play and the run counts in your situation because it was after the appeal and out at 1st..
