Had a chance to swing the Freak black USSSA version this past friday and wanted to share my thoughts. Everyone else always welcome to share and talk about theres as well.

Bat weighted just like a Triad3 26.oz

Paint job matte and it looks bad *SS

It had the ping/tin can sound for the first 50-60 shots and maybe a few after but the changed real quick.

Pop out the wrapper and feel was not like the start of last years models.
Right out the gate I don't know how they did it and I couldn't believe it but it was hotter, funner, and had killer distance.

I hit some good balls and the bat had no issues hitting 300 shots.
I would not be worried to swing this bat new out the wrapper in any game.

I am in shock. I thought what Miken was doing last year was as good as it could get because hands down Miken is the sickest line out right now. Going with the matte finish and getting clean designs just makes the bat even hotter.

This bat shocked me and made me eat my words. It is better then last years and I just can't believe that they made it happen. Props to Miken and there krew.

After hitting this bat I made the purchase of the ASA model.

I might not make a video of this bat or be swinging one only because I have a fallen and triad that are doing work right now and there is no room in my line up for one. I come from swinging a Demarini Legend for many years and my wish was to have a 12" barrel and it finally got made so If anything new in my hands you will see the freak 12" in my bag for many years to come unless it does not perform like last years models.

If you are on the fence on buying a freak black stop loosing sleep and get one. I promise you, you will love it.

I am sure a store will sell you one. You should have troubles. Go ask the easter bunny.

Awesome to hear JPG. I'm loving my Triad3 (USSSA) right now and even bought a backup. I just love the feel of the '14's, but for sure if anything happens to my Triad, I'll try to get the Freak Black as my return.

When i was commenting on the freak black to you, i was talking about the asa version not the usssa one. Im betting the asa one is going to be even better. sorry if there was some confusion.

from what i have read the ussa one is more durable.

Good move at the new low price there now at. I also like that no one swings it.

Will say they are one of the hottest bats out but with that comes durability issues. Mine busted around 250 swings. Will be getting more and a return.

Also compression issues. Put about 2-300 cuts on my buddies DC and it wouldn't pass comp. in Vegas this weekend (218).

I swung my buddies black right out the wrapper. Very very hot. I didn't dare swing it much. I hit 4/5 swings over 330 ft. Even when I missed em they flew. I don't think you can make bats much hotter than this right out the wrapper.

^^^ Agreed. Put about 60-80 cuts on my new Freak Black this morning then straight to the bag.

Yeah lets not be hitting under 60 degrees fellahs.

I guess its the one good thing i can say about florida is that by noon no matter how cold it gets it always makes it to 60-70 degrees.Even on the cooler days if the suns beating down on you it feels like 80s

HAHAHA Only reason I asked is cause I got 1 black with 1000+ swings and another around 700. Both are stupid hot and still in 1 piece and I hit rocks in BP. But I can't remember the last time we had weather under 65 degrees here. LOL

Im Gloving It

Next on hitlist.
This was my bat we were swinging Friday. Scale weight with stock grip and knob cuff is 26 5/8. Weights 3/8 of an oz more than my 2 piece psycho(stock grip, but no knobcuff)
Bat feels real nice, but im not putting down my 4TF anytime soon.
I think this bat still needs some lovin, but its game ready right now.

Do these bats swing light? Trying to figure out if I want to get a 27 or 28....

I would say it swings a little heavy but not crazy. I swung my buddies 26, and I HATE 26's and I mashed with it. It didn't seem crazy light like some 26's.

I ordered a black today from the store. Great price and I can't wait to swing it.
