"JOIN THE REVOLUTION"
2014 GSL Slugfest and Slugfest Conference
History of the Ohio Slugfest
The Ohio Slugfest has been a staple in Dayton, Ohio for 9 years. 2014 will be the 10th year for this great annual event. Slugfest has had over 40 teams since its 3rd year. It was at that time that tournament director Bryan Johnson went out on a limb and guaranteed over $4000.00 cash and $1000.00 in prizes to be given away at the event. The event places every level of softball teams against each other from A to E. Teams enjoy getting a chance to play everyone and see where they stack up against the best teams in the area. Once a team loses in the open, they move to their own division of play. So that E teams play other E teams and D teams play D teams and so on in a double elimination. We have a home run derby, 50/50 and raffles going on during the tournament. The reason we started this event, was to help sponsor my softball team. Every year proceeds made from the Slugfest goes to the Tilton Trucking/Louisville Slugger Softball team. This year, it’s time to take this event to the next level, GSL. I hope to see everyone back for 2014 and more!!!!!!

Mission Statement
The Slugfest Conference Series is the next step in the Slugfest. We have created a series for the Slugfest in Chicago, Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and one more to be announced. We will not run an event every weekend, but instead run only 1 a month (we may do 2 in one month). We do not want to bog down the conference with 15 or 20 events. The reason for this is to get commitments for 3 or 4 events and they all should be great events. This conference will be for every level of play from B, C, D and even E. Teams will be able to win money in the Slugfest events and win money from the points series of the Slugfest. We are hoping to get teams to sign up for the conference and make this series an event for years to come.

Winners of the All Slugfest teams get TBD, we have some ideas like hoodies, nice plaques, and so on. We are always open to ideas. We hope to be not just a name but something to earn!
Conference Points Winners -$200.00 from each team will go into a pot for the end of the year the top 3 teams at EACH Level of play will win their portion of the pot. Conference Championship $100.00 per team from the conference will go to a side pot for the Conference Championship Tournament at the end of the year. So, if you get into the Championship and you are a conference team you have a chance to win the tournament money and win the side pot money set aside just for the conference teams. If a conference team does not win this event then the top finishing team will win the pot. If it’s a tie there will be a PLAYOFF GAME!!!!!
