I know the JD8 is 12.5” and the 207 is 12.25 but curious to hear if anyone can give me a comparison. How much bigger does that 1/4 inch play on the JD8? Which pattern is wider? Looking for something to game at SS. Currently using a 12” GGE and it’s feeling a bit small as I get older.

JD pattern - so many different ways it has gone. I've had two 13" JD's that could've been 302s. A LHT 12.75 tapes 12.25 like a 1000. The 12.5 I had (classic font) was short, deep, and wide. I would suspect the 207 to play longer and a little narrower, but I wouldn't call a 207 narrow. I'd recommend trying on a JD8 first or make sure there is a return policy.

I’d actually love to hear a real world comparison between the 208 and the 504. Mainly about the hand stall size, the heel width and heel break between the two.
I know the 208 (200 series) caters more to the TIP grip, not sure about the 504, never owned one before. In Jethro’s custom thread the other day, I mentioned building either a 207, 208, or a NP7 depending on how much I like my September NP7 when I get it......I’ve been really giving a black & tan combo colored 504 some thought!
