Invitational Men’s Slowpitch
Softball Tournament
August 21 & 22 2010
Place: Milford Memorial Softball Complex, Hwy. 71 N. & 17th St., Milford, Iowa 51351
Times: TBA @ time of pairings. You will be notified of game times and field numbers by phone.
Format: Double elimination tournament, with all teams in the same bracket.
Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place teams, no more divisions.
Entry Fee $175.00 per team—TO ENSURE YOUR TEAM’S SPOT—SEND YOUR ENTRY FEE
EARLY! Any additional entry fees received after the 32 spots are filled will be returned promptly. Spots will not be held for previous year’s teams. PLEASE SEND YOUR REGISTRATION BY AUGUST 13th SO THE PAIRINGS CAN BE DECIDED.
Rain: If we cannot play Saturday, due to rain, we will attempt to have a single elimination tournament on Sunday. The decision will be at the director’s discretion. No Refunds once tournament play has begun. If the tournament is completely cancelled due to rain, your money will be refunded. Stay tuned to KUOO (103.9 F.M.) for weather related announcements.
Disclaimer: Teams are placed in brackets at the discretion of the director. Submission of your entry fee states and implies, that you and your team are in complete agreement and will comply with all rules stated herein. Pertaining to accidents, injuries, or liabilities: The University of Okoboji, City of Milford, Tournament Director and Officials, or anyone involved in the operation of this tournament will not be held liable or responsible. ***PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK***
Softballs: Each Team will need to supply there own new softballs for every game they play, balls need to be yellow with red stitching and 375 compression, 44 core.
Bats: ASA bats granted, No other bats allowed.
Count: Each batter will come to the plate with a 1 & 1 count, no courtesy foul.
Carpet: Carpet is used to determine balls and strikes—UMPIRES’ CALLS ARE FINAL
Pitch Arc: Min. 6 ft./ max. 10 ft.—above or below will be considered an illegal pitch, umpires decision.
Home Runs: There is no home run limit. (275 ft. fences)
Play Eligibility: Players may ONLY play for the team that player started the tournament with, if caught the player is done for the tournament and the team forfeits the game.
**Margin of Run Rule in Effect:: 15 runs after 3 innings/ 10 runs after 5 innings
**Other qualifications and rules governed by the American Softball Association Rule Book.
