My daughter is 14 and moved up to 16U to get ready for High School softball. The 16u team is folding. Coach quit and players are leaving. Wanted to build back her confidence and guest play for 14u team. 14u coaches just told me GSSSA rules will not let her play for 14u even though she turned 14 in June. Once in 16u have to stay in 16u. Anybody run into this? Can I get her back in 14u fall and spring softball?

Doesn't sound right to me, but all my experience was with baseball. The kids would bounce up and down age groups to help out older teams when players were needed.

Sounds like that is a rec league, sinilar to Little League, from a quick glance at the rule book. Age situations usually only applies to All Stars, not a new season, IE: if you're daughter played 16U all season, she would have to play 16U All Stars, she would not be eligible for 14U Allstars. So if she is starting a new season she should be able to join her age appropriate bracket
