i need to add a .45
Lately I’ve gone back to shooting and carrying the caliber most people hate now…..the 40 S&W. Since the FBI dumped this cartridge for the 9mm, seems like all other agencies are following suit, as if the FBI was something to follow these days!

we do have an M&P shield .40 for the missus...i'd be amenable to a .357 for .44 for myself. not sure i could conceal those, tho :D

That strictly comes down to cost. Its over 33% more per round.

Love that version of the 12TC, its a great for baseball infielders, its deeper and doesn't play as long as the tan tcs from the same time.

Not where I buy ammo! And we’re talking about the FBI, when has the government ever once cared about saving taxpayers dollars? One of the main gripes is too much recoil from the .40 round.

33% more is okay when it takes 50% less rounds to get the job done.

There has been a movement for over 25 years now to the 9mm round across all levels of law enforcement. Cost and flexibility are the biggest driving factors.

And the 9mm cartridge has definitely came along way in bullet design, way more effective round than the days of old. I carry 124 grain +P in 9mm, great round just doesn’t have the muzzle energy of the .40 S&W.

My two carry rounds are 124gr. +P in 9mm and 180gr. in .40, both Federal HST.
