ASA runner brain fart

scenario.. runner on 3rd 1 out fly ball hit deep to LF, runner on 3rd mistakenly advances and touches HP, he now realizes the ball was caught, can he legally return to 3b to try to tag up after scoring?
also if he can't return please cite the rule

i looked at the ASA 2005 Rules of Play - Umpire Edition, Rule 8, Section 3, para A, G, H are all applicable. I like to use this edition because the print is large and easy to reference. Not sure if newer editions use same number, but probably are same
