Softball Video Recording Board

Up and Over
Last year I recorded my softball games. It's fun reviewing exactly what happened. I have an inexpensive Action Cam (similar to GoPro - it uses all the GoPro-like accessories).

I built a board to hang the camera on the backstop chain-link fence to get a good view of the Batter, Pitcher and the full field. With it set for the 170° Field of View, it captures from line to line, depending on the distance the backstop is from homeplate. If the backstop is close, I might miss the actual lines beyond 1st & 3rd, but usually the bases are visible. It usually captures a bit of the fencing.

Here's the board:

This should give you an idea of how it works.

Cool. I almost bought something like this on Amazon. Nice job.
I record my league games, sometimes. I have a Sony FDR-x1000 and I have an adjustable clip that I put on the back of the back stop and angle the camera through the fence. Looks a little suspect, but it works. lol.
