White Steel rumor.......

Is anybody noticing that the Raw Steel model number is WTDXSTL-16 but the "Steel" model submitted to ASA is STL-16. From that I would infer that there is another Steel with a composite handle yet to be announced.

It's pretty typical for Demarini to omit the first couple letters on their model numbers on web pages. When you look on the box, it'll include the WT. More than likely the same bat. The raw steel will probably be WTDXRAW-16 if they make both bats.

The early pics show a Raw Steel bat with model WTDXSTL-16. Maybe there will be no white steel and only a raw steel for 2016? I thought i saw pics of a 16 white steel awhile back...

Those people that have been buying them for over 300 the last couple months are gonna be pissed when they see the new ones come out...

Last month i found a '13 raw steel at a big5 for $150. Put it on ebay with a buy it now for $300 shipped. Sold in an hour. I don't understand it.

Yeah I found my 2013 28oz white steel at a random sports auth in Illinois late last September for 150. I put it on eBay with a starting price of 250 but it didn't sell. I think it was because of the time of year. I decided to keep it instead, and I sold my 2012 26oz with around 450 hits to a board bro a couple weeks ago for 120 shipped.

Unless the new ones continue with the trend of the quality diminishing.

I never understood why the quality diminished when the new ASA stamp came out. My 2012 had the old stamp, and it was lights out even with the 52 300 ball. Unless it was a price or materials issue, I don't think there was ever any reason to change the design at all. For what it's worth, my 2013 is the new stamp, has about 75 hits on it (some in chilly fall games) and it's still minty as hell. I also don't swing it at all in BP because I want to keep the life as long as possible. Plus it's not like it needs to be broken in.

I just talked to the rep that I bought my flipper and mercy from and he said release date is 4/1 and they'll be 200 bucks. He said he has 26 and 28 oz on the way next week.

Steels should be released 4/1 roughly maybe 4/15... But yes hopefully in a few weeks. There will only be 1 model STL. Performance should be as good as the past steels with fixed durability - the main reason why they stopped the line last year.

It has a seemless barrel right? Thought I read that somewhere, that's was always my failures, split right down the middle in the seem, both raw and white, can't wait to try

Just bought 2 at local shop 28oz and 30oz. 26oz the shorter barrel is an issue so I'm sticking with white steels for the lighter bats. Too bad but my white steel collection of 26oz is now going to hold it's value better.

What's the issue with a shorter barrel? I believe the raw steels had shorter barrels at least for a few years. We did notice the 26oz has shorter barrel than the 28 and 30s. But kinda confused with this statement and how does that effect the value of the older steels? I would assume the performance and durability of the new STLs will effect the value of the older steels...

We've taken out a few and swung them with the 52/300s and 44/375 the performance is definitely there, so far durability hasn't been an issue but it is a little early to tell.

Well with the white steel the barrel was always the same length, and all the Raws in 26 where short, had them all, I'm guessing this was done because of end load weighting, who knows, I ordered a 26 raw and used it for 2 games and sold it to a buddy and got a 28 just felt more comfortable to me, feels like my insane and future, performance is there for this bat, but for me the 26 swung like a sledge hammer, all endload and handle
