Worth guy looking for Combat

I have been pretty much a Worth and Miken guy for the last 5 years. Love the JH Mayhems and 09 Ressy titans. I am looking to give a Combat a serious look.

If you could pick one, which would it be. (not including the first batch B1)

any thoughts would be appreciated.

"would" the "wood" be a good choice?

the wood feels really nice. But if you like mutants I would try to get a DS. The endload on that thing is just as much as the mutant IMO. That's why I swing balanced bats. The plague is very nice as is the GS so you have some options that would suit a worth guy. I used to have everything worth and quite a bit of Miken stuff but after having to put up with too much bull crap from Worthless on some returns I dropped their a55 and only swing and buy Combat stuff.

The ones I'd look at if I were you are the DS, BBGV, SBGVRI, Wood, and DB

DS- noticeably softer feel than the Worths, similar EL to the Ressy Titan (150-300 swings)
BBGV- since you like an EL, I'd be looking at the FL version. Tougher to find now, but you can still get them used off the board. Slightly softer than a Worth, EL feels a little less that a JH Mayhem. (300 swings)
SBGVRI- slightly shorter barrel than a BBGV (by 1"), sweetspot is a little closer to the endcap but not by too much. EL is similar to a JH. Slightly softer than a Worth. (300 swings)
Wood- noticeably softer feel than the Worths, Fl version has a similar EL to a JH. (50-150 swings)
DB- similar stiffness to a Worth. EL feels less than a JH. (500+ swings)

I edited my previous post to reflect break in times. The DS, BBGV, SBGV are all fairly durable, but are not tanks. The jury is still out on the Wood, and the DB is either going to be very durable, or not at all (there was a bad batch, but Combat has replaced the bats of those who broke ones from that batch).

For your past likes, I would say: Derby boys or an og gear

If you like the 09 Ressy Titan pickup a DS. It swings the same, but like has been said has a softer feel.

Quoted troof here...

They are very very close, but I notice a slight weight difference from the Ressy going between it and the DSP.

If you are a Worth Guy you will say the Ressy is better, Combat Guy will say opposite. Both great sticks, can't go wrong with either IMO as performance is pretty close.
