Well when I had it at the top of the grip, I wrapped it with black electrical tape to hold it in place because it moves so much.

To me, it makes sense at top of taper, but on my JH it wouldn't. Think I'll try it again and put a dab of adhesive under the lip if it slides again.

If you go 4040v2, I'd say a full size up. They don't have a wide option, but they're roomy. And I'd agree on the flattened insole. But I use powerstep 3/4 inserts inside mine.

Ok, I've gotten them new and used and not sure where the rubber grommet is supposed to sit on the bat. Is is supposed to sit at the taper where the 2nd piece meets at the taper, or at the top of the grip? If I put them at the top, they won't stay. Anyone know? And what's the trick to get it...
