1st base glove @ catcher

Anyone use a FB glove playing catcher? Just a random thought I had. I only play 3rd, RF, and catcher. I was browsing the sporting goods store and thought it might be a decent idea.

Catching in SP? I usually use whichever glove I grab out of my bag first when catching... 1.5 MPH pitch requires no special glove.

It's not the 1.5mph pitch I am worried about its the laser coming from outfield to make a play at home.

I do it, Sometimes i prefer to use a first base mitt for catching, it gives that extra padding when you get those gun shots to home.

Go for it, may help scooping dirt throws, other than that, no difference.

I've used a 1B mitt at catcher. In fact I use it whenever I do play catcher. Works just fine. Good for scoops, as someone stated.

Good for short hops or hard throws, I see no problem doing it

I have not used one, just tried one on. Didn't seem too different but I didn't try to catch anything with it

Yeah, it depends on which glove/mitt is on top in the bag.

A single hinge mitt will play a little differently than standard gloves in my opinion, I like a dual hinged heel, little closer to standard but that's my opinion and you know how those are...
