Your league is obviously run by idiots. On a 250' field you want basically the deadest bat/ball combo possible.

Sounds like they need to switch to Incrediballs. The harder you hit those, the flatter and more pancake like they become. Very hard to hit out, but they bounce in the infield like a kickball

Bat control is the answer. At elevation with 250' fields even wood bats hitting 52's it wouldn't be hard to hit it out I'm guessing.
