You would have to have two really fast outfielders to try that in fastpitch.

5 man IF is the best defense there is if you have 3 solid outfielders hawking down balls some 4 man OF wouldn't.

I have actually discussed doing this. But it would have to be based on how productive my pitcher was at generating ground balls.
