If a batter steps out of the box and hits a foul ball, is this an out.....or only if she hits it in fair territory is she out? This is high school softball in Alabama. AHSSA
Should be an out, if her foot is touching the ground completely outside the box at the time of contact, no matter where the ball lands. If it's off the ground or her heel/ toe is touching the line, at the time of contact, then it's a foul ball.
