Ok so I watching a friend play last night and the other team breaks a bat nobody gets hurts but the blue keeps the bat because the bat has to be tested by ASA. Is that true I know if I break my bat I want it back so I can send it In and get a replacement.

The proper procedure during ASA tournament play is that the umpire gathers all pieces and turns them in for inspection. In the end, it's still your property, so you should get it back.

Some leagues also have a similar procedure.

Never seen this done in a league but this is regular procedure in the tournys I play in... You will get the bat back after the testing
