I'm about to send an afflicted in for return, but league starts tomorrow. I don know how long the combat turn around time is on returns, and I need something quick.

I agree. Cheap ASA Combats are difficult to come by if you don't like the Afflicted. But the SB98 being a NR bat, can be had for a reasonable price... even NIW.

AV and VFP. Just depends which one you're more consistent with.
