Any cor question

Was wondering if anyone knows about a ball that says "launch 650" on it. Found a brand new looking one by our field but the numbers are wore off. Any idea what core it is? My guess would be .47 or .50?

Sure it was helpful. Now you know how to express your question without looking clueless. I could continue by telling you that the 650 most likely refers to the compression of the ball. Not the COR. They are two totally different things.

Essentially, COR is bounciness, and compression is hardness. COR will be expressed as a decimal less than 1, normally between .40-ish and .52-ish. Compression can technically be any positive number, but realistically it will fall between 200 and 700.

COR = Coefficient of Restitution.

Basically, how much of the ball's energy is retained when it hits an immovable object.

If the ball hits an immovable steel wall at 100 MPH and bounces off at 47 MPH, the COR is .47.
