Cracks at endcap

I'll ask this question here.... I have an old Powerhouse Intimadator II, bought the bat many years ago from Big Vick. When I got the bat it was in great shape with only a wave. I have never hit the bat and it has rested on garage floor. I am ready to sell and inspected the bat. I found at least 4 little cracks along the endcap. Anybody know why this would happen?

rubber endcap like the old DDWs? i'd assume its from that rubber expanding and contracted with temperature/humidity/etc.
