Eye Black for Night Games?

Maybe a dumb question, but does wearing eye black during night games actually let you see the ball better? Does it reduce glare from stadium lights the same as for the sun? I see a lot of pros wearing it at night but I'm not sure if it's practical or just for aesthetics or to keep their routine the same. I guess I could try it, but I doubt I would be able to tell. But if it legitimately makes a difference I'll definitely start wearing it.
