Coed game last night. Throw to first(girl), ball pops out of glove and she traps it between her elbow and her side. Throw also beats runner. Safe or out?

To complete a valid tag of the base, the ball must be firmly and securely held in the HAND or GLOVE.

If that never happened, or happened after the runner got there...SAFE!

We had a similar play the other night and runner was called safe.
