Boy, I know I'm going to piss people off now. I don't know what I'm doing here I don't know how to post threads but what I do know how to do is stir the hornet's nest with people without intending to. I had posted a while back about pitching a perfect game and July 1977 in a USSA sanctioned tournament which was pretty rare as far as I know it's the only one ever thrown in a complete 7 inning game.
My intention was to find out if there's any way I could find it on the records. And think about it, if you pitched a perfect game in slow softball tournament wouldn't you want to be able to find it? Well, people got mad at me for being on the site because it's a site based out of on some place in the Middle country I forget where. They acted like I had no business being there over any tournament class c played on the East Coast. Apparently, only the good players are in Midwest and all the rest of us suck. I felt bad. Where's the love guys?
It was as if they thought it was not real softball that I was playing, it was nothing compared to tournaments played out in the Midwest. But that's bull crap. Any perfect game thrown in slow pitch is unbelievable. I don't care if it's a bunch of 80 year old men playing a church league. If you pitch and no one gets on base that's incredible. When we played it was the class C division which stands right in the middle of 5 leagues. These are teams that had established, seasoned players. The ages range from about 18 to maybe 40. Of course most of them were want to be baseball players who ended up not making the cut like we all did. I think it was special for me because I created a team from scratch. I was a fan of Paul McCartney and I need the team Wings. I only had a few players that I knew join and then I advertised in the newspaper for tryouts and I picked out the rest. I was only 21 in 1977 and it was very trying to get people to respect me enough to listen to my directions but I earned their respect and we went on to win each division for the next 3 years. So yeah, I'm pretty proud of that. I had no sponsor, I had to run raffles to earn money so I can buy uniforms for everybody. One of my teammates who was a friend helps me get the uniforms ready by making a silk screen logo and we designed our own shirts. We were silk screening the uniforms in the backyard in Trenton New Jersey yeehaw.
All I wanted on this site was help in finding out where the information was about the game? You must remember this is my 15 minutes of fame, and I must say, other than my being DB Cooper this was my finest hour. Come on guys you know that was funny. So today I'm going to hopefully be able to post this picture of the game ball signed by the entire team as well as a picture of the newspaper article regarding my accomplishment. And you'll see by the article that I never claimed I was gifted I claimed that I was lucky. But I must say it ...I'm one talented mother effer. Haha. But I didn't gain notoriety for the fact that once I release the ball I back pedaled so fast I was at second base before they better hit it and I was like a another infield and I stopped many balls that would have been up the middle hits. There were four of them the day of the perfect game as an example.
And any of you who labeled the Jersey leagues as a joke are obviously uninformed. Our league was quite important and the fact that the night of our end of the Year awards banquet held at a fancy restaurant in Hamilton township and we had probably the most sought after celebrity guest speakers other softball circuits couldn't afford.
Bill Robinson of the Pittsburgh pirates and Whitey FN Ford attended. That's huge. I picked a good year to throw perfect game I actually spoke with whitey Ford at the podium and he told me how amazing it was that I was able to do that. How many people would like to have that experience. Talking directly to whitey Ford. I'm a lucky man . Now I hope the article I had written up will attached to this post. It was from one of the two local newspapers in the Trenton area at the time. Both newspapers had sent sports reporters to interview me about that unbelievable game. I was pretty proud that they came to my house or my girlfriend's house at the time to interview me I didn't go to them ... Damn, I think my ego getting big. But it wasn't that you'll see in the article. And I'm sure some of you people out there would be able to help me find that other newspaper's article from the newspaper called The trentonian. It should be in the second week of July 1977. It was written by sports reporter George O"Gorman. Picture of me on the man on the front page in color and the second page to continue the writing . I am pretty sure that was the output it's been a long time and I smoked a lot of pot after that.
I'm now 67, retired and losing my teeth. A great day for me is when I have a good bowel movement. A bad day is when I have a wet fart.
So come on guys help me . I want to have my perfect game ball displayed at the softball Hall of Fame in Trenton New Jersey. It is definitely Worthy of such recognition. If any of you internet nerds out there can find a way to get that newspaper article from The trentonian newspaper in the second week of July 1977 I give you a my autograph that is guaranteed to buy you a coffee maybe. But seriously, friends and members, there is strength in numbers, maybe start a petition or some kind of movement so if my guy that ball doesn't get tossed out and forgotten I know my kids won't keep it... If I'm screwing up on this can someone please write me a personal message to tell me what I have to do different keep in mind, I'm 67, I tell time by the position of the sun and I just don't know when stop talking. Tldr will be frequently friend tonight I'm sure. I can handle any negative comments from you. Feel free to message me in Wilmington North Carolina, at 910-264-8152. My name is Casey George and I approved of this message
