I love old farts

Playing 35 and up last night and we throw the ball back to the pitcher but the guy who threw it fired it a bit low and crazy hard. The ball goes by to their on deck batter. Base runners start to go but their next batter had picked the ball up. We let them know they have to go back but complain that this should still be live. One of the old guys says he wants to see us make him go back. The ump tells him to go back or go home.

35 and up is considered old? That was probably the peak of my rec softball prowess.

we once got our asses handed to us by a team full of 55+ in a tournament in lynchburg va back in the day. it was pretty amazing. no range but flawless defense. and they basically scored 6-7 runs an inning by hitting it whereever they wanted.

And the older we get the better and more frequent are the farts. being a catcher can be....uncomfortable
