7 years ago, Demarini released a bat that was “designed for women’s slowpitch”. I’ll admit, I made fun of a guy swinging it. Then at a tournament a bunch of high level players were swinging it and sending balls to the moon. Now there’s a Mercy in everybody’s dugout, it seems.

Almost every brand makes a 25oz bat now, so I can’t imagine it’s any different then any of the other bats out there.

Yes it's called a Juggy when it's the men's version. The Mercy is a lightweight Juggy for women because physically men are supposed to be stronger but either we've been getting weaker and weaker or we have some really butch girls playing some ball.

Mercy was balanced, 13” barrel with 4.One composite. I’m not sure what it is now, but I do remember some bats being midload.

Dudes started swinging it because it takes lower swing skill to get decent contact. In other words, it’s easier to hit singles.

Juggy is 12” barrel with half ounce endload. The shorter barrel requires more skill to find the sweet spot.

The Mercy was originally marketed as a ladies bat.
