Memorial Day Weekend Tournament - West Middlesex, Pa.

The Shenango Valley Modified Softball League and the Sharon Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will hold an ASA-sanctioned 10-man modified tournament at the COG Complex in West Middlesex, Pa.

The tournament will be held May 26-27 (Saturday-Sunday) at the three-field complex.

The entry fee for the tournament will be $250 and teams will play at least three games. The 10-man style of pitching will be strictly enforced. No slinging will be permitted.

The turnout for this tournament and similar ones that have been held in our area has ranged from six to 14 teams. We are looking to get as many teams as possible.

Two years ago, the tournament had 10 teams. Last year we had a lot of interest but some things fell through for a couple of teams at the 11th hour and thus we had six. We definitely would like to get at least eight and I am pretty confident we will surpass that. Thanks for asking.

Interest has definitely picked up in our tournament but we still have a few slots available. We are very excited about the potential of the field and are looking forward to a fun and successful tournament next month.
