Ok, last week it was an issue about etiquette when hitting up the middle. Tonight I had a pitcher get rocked in the last game I was working. Totally unintentional and the guy who did it was very distraught and near tears the rest of the game. The ball glanced off the pitchers glove and nailed him square in the mouth. Had he not gotten his glove up, the ball have actually missed him or just grazed his cheek. But because he got his glove up enough to tip it, it went right to his mouth. It knocked 5 teeth out. I was expecting to see pieces of teeth on the ground, but it was entire teeth like they had been grabbed with a pliers and pulled out. They were completely knocked out from the bottom of their roots and still in tact. Well, at least the 3 that we found were. The guy said he was missing 5, but we only could find 3. And it's really weird trying to find teeth amongst the sunflower seed shells which are basically the same length and shape of an entire human tooth.
