need help putting together a benefit tourney

looking to do a benefit tourney to help out a friends daughter . she's 13 months old and has just been diagnosed with cancer. the family has insurance but it only covers so much. looking to have it in June in the DFW area, most likely Mckinney. already talked to directors about fields and prices but wanting to know some tips about how to run it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

so no one has any ideas about stuff that works , stuff that doesn't , how to be economical and get the most bang for buck, etc. please, this child really needs help and I just want to make sure I do the best i can to help her. anything ideas are helpful
