Hello All, I am brand new to your community here and am glad I found you all. I just signed up a bunch of employees for softball in a co-ed slowpitch league. I need to purchase some new bats for the team. I would say 80% of the team has not played organized softball before and have limited experience. With that said can you recommend a few bats for us (won't break the bank). I have several females about 5'1 - 5'5 tall between 105 - 130lbs. And the guys range in size from 5'9 - 140lb to about 6'4 - 280. Again just looking for a few bats that would be appropriate (especially for the females). Thanks for your help. Btw.....the bats have to be ASA approved....

Some new Combat Portents or look for a couple new or used 14' juggys. Maybe some Easton Salvos (they will last forever) Try to find a 25oz Mercy for your girls. Demarini makes great bats but so do alot of other companies. If your playing with people who dont have alot of experience, look for bats that are balanced, more forgiving for off hits, and slower swing speeds. This is based on if you guys will be playing in a ASA only league

Welcome to the boards
First off......get some good balls, no Wal Mart-official softball crap.
Secondly...Tons of bats out there. For team usage..................Just a suggestion now;
26oz Combat Portent-Balanced feel
If you want to spend some monies..........find a Demarini Mercy
Another option is the Demarini ONE

Here are some ideads from the selling section:

Thank you Scutch, you hit it on the nose, most don't have experience and it is a ASA only league. Am I better off purchasing some of that equipment here or is there a place online that I should be look at? Thanks

Thank you, I did purchase some Worth balls at Sports Authority yesterday. 6 for $45...I am assuming they are good. The feel pretty good. Thanks for the advice on the bats, I will check into it now.

There is a good mod team and some long time members that will point you in the right direction if your looking for new bats. There is also the looking to sell and looking to buy section in the forums if you are looking for something particular. Look for bats with the same overall condition and number of hits to compare prices.

what are their wingspans?

Joker I am not sure. I guess for the girls it's avg. Just need a couple decent, cost effective, well balanced bats. Not sure if their is something I can purchase on amazon, since it's a company sponsored team I need to make the purchase with an Amex card.

Thanks but I need to put it on my Amex, not sure if the marketplace here is a cash only deal...?

Co-ed Rec league bat boy
25oz Mercy for the ladies and Aftermath or True One for the guys. I'd get '14 models to save some money

Guys I see several of you have mentioned the Demarini Mercy for the ladies. It is $299 on Amazon. Can you recommend something in the $150 range? This is a very novice bunch of girls who are probably not going to be hitting it out of the infield much. We just need something decent for them. tnx

A lot of Easton's are on the cheaper side but I'm not very familiar with them. The only one I have is last year's L6 and I'm very happy with it so far.

I have about 5 Easton L3 (end loaded) and 5 Easton B4 (balanced). They are great bats, they take a while to break in, but hard to beat for 99 bucks each.

Most sites are obligated to display bats at certain prices. PM milocoman and he'll help you with prices.
