New Wilson > New Mizuno

Got to check out all of the new line from Wilson yesterday. Fantastic. The new orange tan on the A2000s feels incredibly like the stuff on my 1781. It's got the flat finish, not like the older orange tan that feels like a thin plastic membrane on top. It's something you've got to check out.

The Weeks and Braun were very nice as well. The yellow lace was nice and firm, but the color varied from glove to glove.

The Longoria was the most impressive. If the Wright didn't feel like a 11.75", it would have got my top pick.

They had all of the new Mizunos as well. All of them felt soft, flexible, and underwhelming. Really would never imagine a tan Mizuno being so floppy from the gate. Maybe just the GMP 200s and 300s are stiff.

And for the lefties, they have some classic Japanese A2000s still in stock.

I was at budget sports yesterday in Houston and saw basically the same selections (and practically same set up) I too liked the color on the EL3 OT and it seemed 12" and pretty good depth. Did seem significantly larger than the dw5 gm. The cj wilson gm was my favorite Plus they had the new pp mochas and the color is more impressive in person. I was not impressed by the Mizunos for the price. Although they had some classics in some really nice colors.

What I like the best were the new Rawlings MLB grade maples. Those were awesome.

Funny, I did the same thing yesterday and completely agree.

They had a few of the mochas. It is a damn sessy color combo. I just fell absolutely in love with the Wilsons though. Nothing I tried on felt better, particularly the 1787 model I tried on. I was very pleasantly surprised that Richard's had that kind of selection.

Rawlings released some MLB pro grade maple and ash bats, that were found to be slightly off from player specs.

It's also interesting to note that several of the newer A2000's I've tried on are made in Japan. To be specific, the black 1796 and 1787. I've got to say despite all the A2000's I've seen lately which are a hit or miss in terms of overall quality, Wilson has come a long way from the original Vietnam-mades.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you Dirty.

I finally got a chance to try on a NEw GMP100 & GMP200.

Awesome gloves, but I am gonna stick with my GMP7.
Wicked gloves, just hard to say they are woth there asking price, IMO.
Also, a little soft for my taste. I like the stiff gloves.
I'll take the time to break it in. I love breaking in a new glove.

I found myself trying on the A2000's more. They also LOOK very sharp.
Nice fit, and $200 less than the mizzy PLs.

BTW, the Lefty A2000's looks very nice.

Yes, the 3rd gen tan GMP 7s are very tough to beat. Every single finger is stiff and straight, the leather feels stiffer and just flat out amazing, and the Deguchi lining just tops it off for me. There's nothing wrong with deer skin lining; it's just not for me. It does tend to stretch out quite a bit. The direct logo embroidery really ruins it for me. Really wish they stayed the same. Matt Cain agrees... :D

Up here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it's really nothing but Academy (pointless to even mention), sports authority, and d i c k s...unless somebody knows something I don't

to the few of you guys that have seen/handled the 2013 dw5 and el3-gm, do you really think the el3-gm will play and break in bigger and deeper then the dw5? I keep looking at my dw5 trying to convince myself to break it in but the h web itself seems like it is very narrow (which most of you told me was the case with them)

I've been astounded by this for about 2 years now. I keep holding out hope that I'm missing a store, but I don't think I am. San Diego (where I moved from) had 3 or 4 really nice sporting goods stores that had full walls of the good stuff.

I was at DSG the other day though, I think it was the one at the North East Mall in FW and they did have most of the new high end models of both the Wilson and Mizuno lines.

Yep, my RICHARDS never carried the high end Mizuno or Rawlings.
Now they have them all, Primos, GMP000s, Wilsons, etc

So nice to see them in person.

The only thing Academy carries that's half decent is Nokona. The ****'s in Hurst has most of the 2013 models including the GMP's.

academy also carries a lifetime warranty on their shoes...I just found out they carry the nike diamond trainers which I love for bp/turf infields...pay $50 one time and get a new pair once they wear out...I am in

No joke in the MIJ A2000's. Here's one currently on eBay: 251166384518.

And for what it's worth, a trip to a Lisabiz garage sale doesn't sound too shabby

so what did you guys think of the Ryan Braun? Im diggin the color combo but am a little weary about discoloration from glove to glove. Im a miz guy and have actually never owned a Wilson, but was thinking about giving this one a try. I know these are new, but anyone know if it plays true to size or larger/smaller? Deep pocket? stiff leather?
