Men's Slow Pitch: R1 and 3rd base, R2 on 2nd base, and R3 on 1st base with two outs. B5 hits a long fly ball to left center field. F8 leaps up to make the catch and the ball deflects off of his glove and goes over the fence in fair territory. R1, R2, and R3 all advance around the bases to score. However, B5 goes directly to the dugout. The defensive coach appeal B5 for not running the bases. Since this is a 4 base award the umpire agrees with the coach and rules B5 out and disallowing all runs scored. Is this the correct ruling?

I'd agree with the call.. on a 4 base award the runner must finish his responsibility of running the bases

here's 1 back at you... if the B/R advanced to 1st base then went to dugout would you allow all 3 runs to score??

In USA Men's Slow Pitch, any ball hit over the fence in fair territory (including a 4 base award) does NOT require runners to run. Hit and sit!
