Player hits foul pole

Ok, open field. Guy hits deep fly ball down the line. Drops in fair then hits the foul pole. Squirts away from the field, but not into dead ball territory. Is it a ground rule double?

I'm assuming there's a fence involved? Is the pole attached to the fence, or is it behind and completely separate from the fence?

That's what I did, since it had not gone to dead ball area, live ball. No fence just 2 sticks on 3rd and 1sr base sides

They're not foul poles if there's no fence. Just for another example if a ball hooks around the inside of the pole in the air but lands foul it's a foul ball. We have a field like that near me and I have to point that out every week in the ground rules for the one time a year it happens.
