ASA pop fly tag up rule

Runner on 2nd and 3rd no outs, hitter hits fly ball to outfield runner on 2nd and 3rd base tag, Runner on 3rd base left early and is call out after appeal, runner on 2nd who tagged to go to third base goes where? Does runner go back to 2nd or do they remain on 3rd?

If he tagged properly and advanced to third safely, he can stay on third. The runner who left early is the only one who is liable to be put out.

True. And besides, even if he had not properly tagged, he'd be called out for leaving early, not sent back to 2nd. I have to wonder what they were thinking on that.
