runner fails to tag

Runners on first and third, 1 out. Flyball caught for 2nd out. Runner at third tags and crosses plate. Runner at first took off on the swing, still running. The throw comes to first. Score the run, even though there is no tag needed (force)?
Just now saw this forum. Looks like a cool group! I may just get interested in umping more often.

The out at first isn't a force, it's a live ball appeal. Whether the run scores or not depends on the timing; did the runner on third reach home before the out was made at first?

I remain completely amazed at a) this play happens so often that people come on here and ask every week or so or b) there's way too many people in on the bit.

Not a force. Scoring depends on timing of the out for the runner on first.
